"First Time Parents"

Here is Lila in her sweet ballerina socks (Thanks Honey)! Notice how much bigger she looks! Let me explain....
As I have mentioned in past posts, Lila has had issues with her weight. Last week we went to the Dr. and they said she was doing great and could stop waking her up every 3 hours. It has been so nice to let her skip a feeding at night and get almost 4-5 hours of straight sleep! We also quit supplementing with 2 extra ounces after feedings. It has made feedings so much easier, but being a new mom, I worry now she isn't getting enough.
All that said, the Dr. said we could stop by and use their scale anytime if we wanted to check up on her. I called today and "stopping by" still means sitting in the waiting room with all the sick kids while we wait to get called back. We decided that was not worth it.
So...we took our baby to the post office and weighed her on the self service scale. Yes, that's right. My sweet baby girl got stripped down to her diaper and placed on a scale for MAIL! Only one other person walked through and she got a kick out of it. Must be first time parents! We were thrilled to see that she is 8lbs and 8 ozs. Now that we know breast feeding is working I will relax. No more post office stops!

go to woman's work in the village - i weighed justin there once a week for awhile as i couldn't relax about his weight. it's free to weigh at woman's work and they help you do it as well. right by the door - easy in, easy out.

That is too funny! The post office. I love it! Lila looks too cute! It is amazing how fast the time it flying. She is already going to be a month old. I am stressing because Brooklyn is going to be three weeks old. It is all still too fresh in the mind. Well, Lila is precious and I love her hair!

Hey Kacey!

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard of! Don't apologize though. There is nothing wrong with being an advocate for your child! :O We are three weeks from delivery ourselves, so you are helping to get me excited! Love all of the Christmas pictures! Come see us at school soon!

I LOVE IT! And - do not even think twice about doing that. You do whatever you have to do! And what a great memory you will have to tell her. She is precious and I cannot wait to meet her in person!
