Little cowgirl!

Yesterday was go Texan day in Houston. It marks the beginning of the Rodeo. Lila was dressed in her jeans and boots to show her support for the trail riders :) Thanks Katy for our cute boots!

This is the closest we have in our house to a saddle. She is pretty risky riding with only one hand.

Daddy and Lila in their boots!

Lindsey had gotten us tickets to go to the BBQ cook off and see the Wade Bowen Band, but Josh caught whatever I have been sick with and we couldn't go. Shannon and Derek had offered to babysit, so we decided to still go out to dinner. That was our first time with someone other than a grandma babysitting. Big step for us parents! Thanks Michaelis family :)

Texas Tech Two Year Olds!!

This past weekend Josh's mom and sister threw the best Texas Tech party for Blaine and Presley. It was a tailgate party with sausage wraps, nachos, cake and tons of fans :) Here is the littlest Red Raider.

Here are all the cousins; Mia, Lila, Presley and Blaine. Happy Birthday Twins!

All of the kids got their picture taken on the masked rider. Blaine especially loved the cape.

Cha Cha made this huge 2 out of red and black candy!! It looked amazing!

Those jerseys on the wall are from some of Tech's greatest players. The one on the far left was Michel Crabtree's from the Cotton Bowl this year!

Here is Tanner in his pirate hat. Glad coach Leach is staying around.

Cooper looks so tough in the helmet!

Granny was a big help with Lila all day!! Thanks Granny!

We also got to see my Nana and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Here are all the girls with Aunt Roxann. We had a great visit. Lila did so good on the plane and even sat through church on Sunday morning. Happy 30th to Justin and Happy 2nd to Blaine and Pres:)

Brain Sucker!

She is so sweet! Or is she...? This past weekend Josh and I flew to Lubbock to visit his family. (Pictures coming soon). In this short weekend I discovered that Lila has sucked out my brain! I mean literally, my brain is made of mush! I have heard some women say that while they were breast feeding they felt a little scatter brained, but I think I have really lost it. First, when we got to the airport I realize I had forgotten my wallet. That means no money and no ID. The people of southwest airlines felt so sorry for this crazy lady that they let me fly with only a Blockbuster card! On the plane I realized I had the camera, but no memory card. I packed the same black boots that I tried on not once, but twice to discover they were too small. I made a special trip to my Nana's to bring her a birthday present only to forget the ear rings! While I was there I lost my mother in laws keys. I also forgot one of Lila's feedings! ( I mean not forever, just one hour late thanks to her crying:( Thank God for babies instincts). I forgot several items of clothing for both Josh and myself. To top it off, today I mailed all of our bills without the stamps on them!!! Before baby I was a list making, multi-tasking, never forget a birthday kid of gal. Those days are gone, but it is so worth it :)

Growing Fast!

This weekend we are going to a Texas Tech party for my niece and nephew Presley and Blaine. I was getting Lila packed up (which is a task all on it's own). We tried on our Tech cheerleader suit to make sure it wasn't too "big". HA!! The thing would barely go on. Matter of fact once we got it on, it got stuck. If you have ever worn a polyester cheerleader outfit then you know, they don't stretch at all. In the picture it looks plenty big, but there is a fitted onesie on the inside that snaps. I literally had to wait for Josh to get home so that we could double team the thing and pull it off. As I was squishing and pulling my child out of this thing, while she is screaming, one thought went through my mind...Pagent Mom. Okay, so no more tears for cuteness. (At least until Halloween :)

So here is a pic of the cute little Tech cheerleader suit that never got worn.

Here is another picture while changing clothes that just makes me laugh. Who is that baby? She looks so different without her hair... and maybe a little like the flying nun.

Seeing how big she had gotten in her clothes made me wonder what else I thought she was way too small for. Here is our first sitting in our Bumbo chair. I can't believe how big my girl is!!

Happy Valentines Day

This year my Valentines day date included an extra plus one:) Josh found a great drive in called the Showboat Drive in out in Tomball. We took Lila out there on Friday night and saw "He's Just Not That into You".

Here is the little sweetie in her V-day shirt and 1st pair of jeans. The flash ruined the backdrop, but that is the screen behind us.

On Saturday night I got these beautiful flowers and a home cooked meal from my Valentine!

It was also a monumental night for Lila. She slept in her crib for the first time! Up until now she has been in a bassinet in our room. Dr. Ally had suggested we do this by 3 months, so she gets used to it. (and I can get more sleep) She did great. I woke up every time the monitor made any noise and turned on the video just to make sure she was breathing:) Turns out babies can survive in their own rooms.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Cute Cupcake!

This week has been a sick one. Josh had a cold last week and worked really hard to make sure we didn't get it. No such luck. This week Lila and I both have a pretty stuffy nose:( I took her to the doctor on Monday and they said as long as there is no fever we just need to give her saline drops and let it run it's course. You would never know that she doesn't feel good in this top picture. What a sweet little cupcake. Thanks Jessica for the cute T shirt! (This pic really shows how light her hair is getting!

Unless she is asleep, she is wanting to be held. No problem thanks to the Carrier! Josh came home to me cleaning the house like this and thought it was pretty funny.

Justify FullI really love that she has got some baby rolls now! Lila, what do you think of your squishy tummy???

And yes, even when we are sick, we love our bows!

Job Interviews, Taste of Honey and Birthdays!

We went to Waco this weekend for several reasons. Josh had another round of interviews. We are really trying to decide where God wants us to be. Josh has been working so hard looking into all the possibilities for our little family:) While we were there, my Mom's school, FWCS had their annual fundraiser. My sister, Angie was in charge of putting it all together. She did a GREAT job! It was awesome and they raised a lot of money. It is also Cary and Angie's birthdays this month, so we celebrated while we were all together. Lila loves seeing all her cousins:) Here are some random pics of the weekend.

Here we are with Angie and Ally. You can't tell, but both girls are wearing their french poodle outfits. So cute!

Here we are at Taste of Honey. Lila really loves her cousin Stacey!

GP had the magic touch at getting this little one to sleep.

I couldn't get this picture to flip, but I had to post a shot of Ryan performing. He didn't move his mouth so much or do the motions, but we are so proud of him:)

Aunt Cary, Honey and GP babysat for us so we could go on a date. Looks like she was in good hands.

Thanks for taking such good care of me Honey!

Here is another of Lila and Stacey. How cute are these two in their red?

Thanks for being such sweet cousins to Lila. We had a great time seeing everyone this weekend.

Shots Hurt!

We had our 2 month check up yesterday. Lila is growing so much. She is 24 inches long (95th %) and 11 lbs 3oz (50th%)! She was so happy, smiling and talking to the nurses...until they gave her her shots. She screamed and screamed. I don't think I am going to handle the toddler stage very well, when she is falling and getting hurt all the time, because when she looked up at me with that sad painful face, I about lost it. Josh says it's important for her to learn that she can recover from these things and to calm herself down, but I absolutely HATE seeing her scared like that. I should tell you she did fine and recovered like 30 seconds later. It was me who was the saddest. pathetic, I know

The rest of the day she was just really cranky and tired. The only thing that seemed to make her happy was her singing sunshine on her play mat.

Hooray for electronics!!!

Birthday's

I have been so lucky to have some of my oldest and best friends here in Houston with me. We all went to Purdy's preschool together, played on the winning team Brazos Roofing in little league, played on the 8th grade basketball team (truthfully, Annesa played and Lindsey and I warmed the bench) survived Midway High School, grew up in college and then all choose to live here in H town. These two girls celebrated their birthday's this past month.

The top picture is us celebrating for Lindsey at Brian's house with the yummiest corn ever!

The bottom picture is at Nino's for Annesa.

I am so blessed to have such good friends in my life. Happy 27 ladies!

2 months old!!!

I can't believe my baby is 2 months old today. (I'm sure I will say that every month) but it's true! It feels like we just got home from the hospital. Thank goodness that's not the case:) We have learned so much about each other this month.

Lila Facts:

* She now weighs almost 11 lbs

* She eats in 15 minutes now

* She is sleeping for a 5 hour stretch every night (not groundbreaking for lots of moms, but GREAT for us)!

* She has learned to SCREAM for no reason:)

* Her hair is getting so much lighter, even reddish in the sunlight!

* She found her fist and thumb and loves having them in her mouth

* She loves going on a walk

* We love our morning naps in bed together!! (Probably me more than her)

Here is her official 2 month picture. The photo shoots we do for these gems are hysterical! Granny, Josh's grandmother bought her this precious poodle outfit. Thanks Granny!

Here is a picture of the morning nap set up. She is such a cuddle bug:)

Here we are rocking on the front porch. We love anything outside!

Sweet kisses from daddy!

Lila we love you so much! I can't wait to see how much you change in another month.
