Bad Blogger

The purpose of this blog was for me to keep track of all the day to day stuff that we do so that one day my kids can look back and see how loved they are and how much fun we had.  Also, so I can simply remember some of it!  Seriously, I have lost my ability to retain information!  Like, important information!  The less than 24 hours ago things we did or were supposed to do, but I forgot information!!

I'm so thankful for God's grace and protection in this stage in my life.  Grace for all my shortcomings.  Grace for my lack of patience with my kids.  Grace for my selfishness in my marriage to Josh. Grace for my laziness in my friendships.  Grace for my 'take it out on the ones I love most' tantrums.  Grace for coming to Him in times of need most days rather than in times of praise and thankfulness.  This list could go on and on and on.  The protection part is well, mostly the fact that we are all still alive!

Like most moms, I always have about one too many balls in the air at any given time.  I don't know if it is the third baby, the start of Purdy Girl Parties or just the fact that these kids just keep getting bigger and busier, but sitting down and updating the blog just seems so hard!  Thank goodness for instagram and facebook so that we can snapshot some of the life we are living and keep our family and friends updated!  Also, I think the further behind I get, the more daunting it seems to catch up!!

Every hiccup Lila had is on here and photographed.  Caroline at least has most of her milestones recorded.  Sweet baby James Wright...I'm sorry :(  Being a third child myself, I am determined to do better at keeping up with this for him.  I dream of a day when I have all my yearly blog books printed out and on a shelf displayed beautifully! For that dream to come true, I have to have the "stuff" posted to print out!!

I have a goal!  (There is a point to this rant)  I am going to try to do at least a monthly post where I can catch up on everything we have been doing.  Here's hoping I can make it happen...for their sake ;)

James Wright is 11 months!!

James Wright is 11 months old!  So big!  He is getting so big and really starting to show his personality.  (That's a nice way to say, "he has learned how to throw fits!")  His sister Caroline did the exact same thing at 11 months.  It's like they turned a corner and stopped being the easiest, happiest babies and really let us know when they don't like something!  Look at sweet baby Caroline :)

...and here is Lila, just for comparison ;)

Some things he doesn't like: when you put him down, leave the room, put him in the car or change his diaper.  I know I am stronger than he is, but it is a close call when you try to change his diaper!!  He also has this fun trick of sticking his fingers down his throat when he is ready to get out of the highchair, car seat, or crib.  Makes for some really fun clean up :/

Other than those new things...he is still so sweet and happy.

He loves to play with balls, be outside and follow his sisters around.  He is wearing 24 month clothes and size 4 diapers.  He is so happy to be on the go and waves  and smiles at everyone we see.

I can't believe that he is almost one!  Gone by too fast.

Princess Tea Party

Way back in December...we celebrated Caroline's 3rd birthday.  She wanted a princess tea party this year.  She was a beautiful mini Cinderella!!

Big sister Lila Jasmine played hookey from preschool to help celebrate!

Once all of these princesses and knights arrived they colored this fun cardboard castle I found on amazon.

Then it was time for tea :)

 Handsome knights that we love!!!

Had to get on our tiaras and earrings first!

More tea please.  (or pink lemonade)

 My loves

The chandelier is kind of hanging shadows on this one, but cake is Caroline's favorite part of a party...don't know where she got that from?!?

These guys seemed to like it too.

 Cake, then presents ;)

Happy Birthday Caroline Caprice!! You are the funniest, sweetest, most sensitive 3 year old I know.  I am so grateful that God entrusted you to us!  We can't wait to see what is in store for  your next year!!!

James Wright is 10 Months

Sweet James Wright is 10 months old!!  He is growing like a weed and changing every day.  He is so mobile now and getting into everything!  He crawls all over and pulls up on anything and everything. He makes us smile by clapping, waving and "talking".  He pretty much calls all adults Da Da and all kids Lila.

He makes it very clear if he likes something or not.  If he does, he laughs and shakes his head yes so that his whole body rocks.  If he doesn't, he throws his head down, waves his hands back and forth or my favorite, does a 180 while covered in poop!  His favorite things to do are take a bath, eat and read books.  His least favorite things to do are get his diaper changed, go down for naps or get in the car seat.

For memories sake...He is 21 lbs and in size 18 mo clothes.  He is in size 4 diapers and size 4 shoes.  He is still nursing 5 times a day and eats three meals a day of real food.  He still takes two naps a day, but is getting close to just one.    I LOVE this stage and wish we could freeze time for just a little bit.  Can't believe he is getting so close to ONE!!!

James Wright is 7, no 8, no 9 months old!

Well, I totally dropped the ball on the blog.  I can't stay on top of it!! Now three months have passed and I didn't get James Wright's monthly post up!  SO...all three in one :)

It's crazy to see how much he has grown when they are all right next to each other?!  His legs fill up that rocking chair now.  He is still the angel baby that God knew we needed...but, he did learn a look other than smiling this quarter of his life.  Sadly, he had a couple ear infections to thank for that and horrific allergies like the rest of us :(  Luckily I don't have many pictures of anything but his inside-out grin!

Over the past 3 months:

  • he got some teeth!  (4 now)

  • Started taking big boy baths in the tub

  • Met Santa

  • Celebrated his first Christmas!

  • Rang in the New Year

  • Got dedicated

  • Looked adorable ALL THE TIME!

  • Got super sick and super sad

  • Melted me

  • Got lots of love from his sisters

  • Became a real life baby doll :)

  • became a little stinker that wants Momma near by all the time

  • Learned to crawl!!  Watch out world!  Here I come!  I have found some foreign object in his mouth every day since this began.  Foil, paper, leaves??  Gonna have to pull out my A game watching him now!

He is 28 3/4 inches long (75th%) and 20.8 lbs (50th%).  He sleeps 12 hours at night and takes two naps every day.  He eats baby food and has started some table food.  He nurses five times a day.  He is so happy and so fun right now!

Thanksgiving 2013

Better late than never? Thanksgiving this year was spent up in Shallowater.  As always, we had a wonderful time.  The girls LOVE their Texas Tech cousins SO much!  Sadly, I forgot my memory card for my camera.  I did manage to snap a few pics with my phone.  So thankful for these four!!!

My culinary contribution to the feast!  Ha!

This little nugget loved all the attention he got...and demanded the same amount once we got home :/

On our last day there we got to go play with Nana and Sam. Dominoes, puzzles, vanilla wafers and tiny breakable glasses of water make these girls super excited!

I have more to be thankful for this year than I ever thought possible! I am so undeserving of all of the blessings in my life.  It is abundantly clear that God had a plan for me far beyond what I ever imagined.  So thankful for His grace and patience for me.  Happy Thanksgiving!
