Purdy Family Christmas...sort of :)

Ever since we got married we have taken turns with our families for the holidays.  Every other Christmas is spent in Waco.  This was our off year.  (and boy was it off)  Normally, this means we would get together either before or after for a few days and celebrate Christmas.  This year was far from normal....  The horrible pictures I took fit perfectly with this strange year :)

Because of the babies, we couldn't all get together like we would have liked.  Calling adult gifts a wash long ago, we all decided to just buy for the kiddos.  Mom and Dad had been in Dallas helping with Coyt and Crew when they decided to bring the two big Smith boys, Stacey and Wyatt, home to give Caryn a bit of a break.  Once we realized all the Purdy cousins would be together, we threw together a quick celebration.

It started with a visit with 6 of the cousins to Santa.  (I haven't seen my parents since then to get a copy of the actual picture, but I will try to upload it later).  I did get this lovely shot of Lila and I waiting in line.  An hour and a half later we got all the kids in with Santa!

After a delicious Christmas dinner of Rosa's the kids got to open gifts!  Lila in action!

Caroline tore into hers :)

At the end of our night all the kids got to go into Mom and Dad's room to open their presents from them.  AKA...there was no time to wrap the presents ;) All the boys got a pair of boxing gloves...and the opening stopped there.  It was so funny to watch a seven, a five and a three year old fight to the death!!  Here is Caroline trying out the chair that GP painted for her!

We had a short, great time playing with all of our cousins and were so glad that we got to have even this quick version of Christmas with them.

Caroline had so much fun that she was too tired to stay awake during bath time.

Can't wait until next year when we can all be together!!!!

Precious Moments

I walked down the hall at bed time and saw this...

Be still my heart!  Those 3 make me feel so blessed!  Apparently reading a story with big sister is just what Caroline needs to fall blissfully asleep :)  I mean come on!!!! How sweet!

3 Weeks old!

We had a great Christmas season with lots of posts to catch up on.  Until then...Caroline is 3 weeks old!

I feel like time is flying!!!  Poor December babies...they don't get a break.  This week she met Santa (for the second time), did some last minute shopping, celebrated Christmas with her cousins, drove to Lubbock for real Christmas where she was passed around like a rag doll and did it all without any trouble!  Caroline really is the best baby ever.  I am so glad to be home and have Josh off this week.  Hopefully we can soak up some quiet time with our girls before the new year :)

Two weeks old!

Caroline is two weeks old!

The Twins are Here!!!!!!

Yesterday I became an aunt again to two new precious babies!!!!  Crew Anderson 5.14 and Coyt Austin 6.6 are here!!!! They came into the world to their proud parents and two older brothers yesterday afternoon in Dallas.  I was heart broken to not get to be there, but a long day at the hospital with a newborn and a two year old didn't sound like a very helpful thing to do to anyone.  The whole family is going home tomorrow...can you believe it???  Tomorrow!!  Healthy mom who delivered both boys naturally and two big healthy twin boys!!!  Praise the Lord!  I can't wait to hug and kiss those precious C's!!!  Lots more pictures to come :)

Hacker

Well, I just noticed that my blog was hacked!  My oh so sweet husband changed the name of our blog!  We were talking about how it needed a better name now that the + 1 was actually here, but I guess he thought he was really funny.  Until I change it, Warren Peace it is :)

Santa Visit 2010

This morning, with Cha Cha's help, we went and met Santa!!!  I was a little worried, because every time we would ask Lila if she wanted to see Santa, she would say "I not"!  One of her more popular phrases right now.  Once we got there, she was really impressed by the giant tree and Rudolph.  When it was our turn to go, she was fine talking to Santa as long as Mommy was holding her.  I sort of just plopped her down :)  After a few tears, she was laughing at the photographer and smiling.  As you can see, Caroline was easy going as usual.  Love the tradition, esp with the "real" Santa :)

One Week Old!

Caroline is one week old!  She has joined our family beautifully and now we can't imagine life without her!   While I don't think any baby is easy, she is the most calm and easy going baby I have ever been around.  She eats every 3 hours like a champ and even has gone for some four hour stretches at night.  She really only cries if she is hungry or needs to burp.  She sleeps most of the time and just looks so darn cute!!!!  Here are some pics of what we have been up to this week.

Countless photo shoots while being "loved on" by big sister :)

LOTS of snuggle time with Daddy and Mommy!

Being stuffed into her stocking for pictures and making the whole world just seem better :)

Lila has been doing really well adjusting.  We have had a few more accidents than normal and really don't want to be away from Mommy, but all things considered she is doing great! She wanted me to be sure to know Caroline is too little to play on the  slide :)

Getting a haircut from Honey's beauty shop.

 So pretty!

Bossing Playing school with Honey and having rest time.

Pretending to sleep with Caroline.

 Playing with our sweet cousins!

...and copying everything Mommy does with Caroline with her own  "Baby Caroline".  (She even gets out a boppy, lifts up her shirt and "feeds" her baby :)  Love this big sister!!!

Week one was fabulous.  I hope the weeks to follow go as smoothly!

Day 3

Day 3 was last Wednesday.  I tested strep B positive so Caroline needed 48 hours of antibiotic.  That meant we had to stay at the hospital until 4 pm.  Fine by me, a little bit longer with help and meds :)  That morning Josh had to go to work again, so I got to have quiet snuggle time with C.  Love....

After breakfast Lila and the Warren's came up and visited and entertained.  Singing songs with Cha Cha.

Uncle Stacey getting to meet his newest niece!

Caroline all dressed up and waiting to go home :)

One excited Daddy daughter duo.  Love...again!

Caroline's first car ride.  All dressed up for the big occasion!

Welcome home baby girl!

Thank goodness Honey came to stay with us when we got home.  Here is our first "bath" before bed.

Lila loving on her little sister.  (They do have the same parents.  Caroline was just a little bit jaundice).

Home sweet home.  She has been sleeping great in her bassinet.

...and when she doesn't feel like sleeping, that's what Honey is here for :)

Day 2

Day two started off really calmly.  We sent Caroline to the nursery to sleep, so I actually got several hours of sleep at night (none all together, but sleep all the same).  Josh had to go do rounds at the hospital around 6, and our family didn't get there until around ten.  Caroline and I had a few hours to lay in bed and bond together.  It was so nice :)  Did I mention that she is a very peaceful baby?

My sweet nurse gave her a second bath (after the initial one) because she has SO much hair and I asked her to.  Caroline didn't much love it, but boy did she look precious!

Josh's family got there just in time to see the pretty girl.

 A mid-morning photo shoot :)

Aunt Angie got to stop by after her father in laws visitation.

Daddy hurried back to see his newest baby girl.

Lila had been at Mother's Day Out all day and was SO excited when she got to come up and play with  "her baby".  Seeing them loving on each other just melts my heart!!!

The Warren family of 4!!

Sweet sisters I love you :)

Caroline is here!!!!

Caroline Caprice Warren was born Monday afternoon at 4:33!  She came in at a healthy 7 lbs 10 ounces and 20 inches long.  We are SO blessed and in LOVE with this baby girl.

Monday early morning I woke up about 1:30 am with some very strong contractions. They were about every 6-7 minutes for several hours and then got to 5 min around 5am. I called Dr. Rister and he said to come on in. So, I woke Josh up ( who was mad I had let him sleep) and called my mom to come watch Lila and we were off.

It was about 6:00 when we got to the hospital.  Of course, as soon as we got there the contractions stopped! They checked me and said they weren't sure it was in labor or had false labor at home.  I was so frustrated not knowing what was going on.  Dr. Rister got there and checked me and said I was about the same as I was in his office last week. He said he wanted to check me in a few hours to see if I was progressing or if what happened at home was a fluke.  I could either stay there or go home and come back in a few hours.  We decided to stay there.  I was feeling so disappointed.  Sad that I had misread labor and sad that Caroline wasn't coming yet.  By now it was 10:00.  I was just ready for them to let me go and get on with the day when Dr. Rister came back.  Prepared to hear him say "this happens to a lot of people" and send me home, I was so surprised when he said I was at a 4/5 and needed to go to a L&D room!!!

By about 2:00 I had progressed to about a 6 and then slowed down.  They decided to put me on some potosin to speed things up.  I got my epidural and  by 4:00 was ready to go.

Here we are waiting to  meet this little peanut!

I couldn't make myself walk around the room without shoes on, but everyone thought this get up was a little ridiculous:)

My parents anxiously awaiting!!!

Big sister Angie

Sweet Caroline :)

So in love!!!

After keeping her to ourselves for about 15 minutes, we brought in the family to meet her.

Josh's family was in Shallowater waiting on the green light to come.  Once we got it, they jumped in the car and hurried down here.  They got here just in time to meet their newest grand daughter.

Roxann Josh's sister and Mia Grace.

After we got moved to a room, my sweet friend Kristiana, who had been watching Lila and Ally, dropped them off at the hospital.  Lila was SO EXCITED to finally meet Caroline.

"That's my baby sister"!!!

All the girls.

We had the most amazingly smooth and easy day with baby # 2.  We feel beyond blessed by all the family and friends we had praying and surrounding us.  One major missing person, my sister Caryn.  She is way too far along to travel.  It was so sad not having her there with us:(   We sent her pics all day long.   Not to worry, there are lots more pictures of Caroline coming soon.
