Lost Pines

It was our summer to do a fun Purdy family vacation.  We decided to stay close to home this year and went to Lost Pines in Bastrop.  we had never been before and we LOVED it!  It is set up for families and has a different activity scheduled every couple of hours for the kids.  (As though the pool, slide and lazy river weren't enough.) We were there Thursday night through Sunday and didn't even get to do half of the fun stuff they have.  I borrowed a couple pics from their website of the actual hotel.  It was really nice without being fancy or breakable.  Not a good thing for our three under five :)

Since my family wakes up at 7am no matter what...it was easy to get to the pool before the crowds of people.  Mr. JW took his morning nap like this for three days.

Loving the treats by the pool :)  *Side note* from a rainbow sherbert lover.  Where were these when I was groin up?  When I could eat my weight in ice cream?  All they had then was the orange.  Orange is okay, but the trio of flavors!  Way to go bluebell :)

So excited to have some fun with Ally!

Lila didn't want to ride the mechanical bull, but Caroline jumped at the chance.

Giving our Alpha some courage :)

They had the most amazing face painters there one night.  They just whipped up these beautiful girls.

Every night we had our fare share of some yummy s'mores.

...and popcorn with the movie!

Caroline and Lila loved the water slide!  As Caroline was coming up from under water from one turn she would say, "I need to go again!"

She even suckered Honey in going with her several times:)

Awesome family pic!  At least there is proof that we were all there together.

Sweet boy catching a ride for the night.  (Looking back at how often he was held over the last month, I am starting to understand why he won't let us put him down now!)

Only family picture

A little late night putt putt.  The kids thought the golf cart shuttle was the best part of that, and the movie that followed :)

We will definitely be coming back!!!!

James Wright is 4 Months

James Wright is 4 months old!  He has REALLY found his voice this month.  He sequels and laughs all the time.  Any time ANY person makes eye contact with him, he turns inside out and smiles so big.  He also isn't shy to let you know if he doesn't like something.  Going to sleep has become something of a fight.  Just like his big sister Lila.  By the strong willed fits he throws when you try to get him down, I think he may be even more stubborn than her?!  Didn't know that was possible!  I don't know where they got it from?  He loves watching his sisters play, watching tv with his Daddy and rocking with Mommy.  He loves bath time, his play mat and being naked.  He doesn't like going to sleep, being in the car or when you put him down.

We went in for his check up and he was 16 lbs and 26.5 inches long.  He moved down to 75th % in weight and is still 90th % in height.  He eats every three hrs during the day and is all over the place at night.  Some nights he gets up once and some he still gets up every three hours.  We tried letting him cry it out and after about 30 min we agreed we will try again next month!  He is teething already and constantly has a wet shirt, poor guy.

Oh, and did I mention he is precious!!  Just look...

 Seriously!

He rolled over this month.  He was so proud and did it all day, then decided it wasn't worth all the hype.  He seriously hasn't done it but a couple times since.

I'm not the only one who is in love with him :)

3 month pics

People always ask us who James Wright looks like?  Here are some three month shots of the girls.  Lila then Caroline

If you cover up the hair, he looks a little bit more like Lila, but not very much.  Below is a picture of me at that age...

...and the winner is, Mommy :)  Now our kids morph into different looks every six months or so, but I love that I have a little mini me this time!

We LOVE him!!

Another of Caroline because it's just so funny ;)  How did that braidable brunette mullet turn into this blondie?

Port Aransas

After seeing some pictures of friends trips last summer Lila begged and begged us to go to the beach!  We promised that this summer when Mommy wasn't nauseous and pregnant, we would all go together.  Good plan in theory, but I think a sick and tired Mommy is still probably easier to travel with than a new born ;)  Luckily for us, JW did awesome and was still little enough to pretty much nap wherever we were and let his big sisters enjoy the beach!

We found an amazing little treasure called Cinnamon Shores in Port Aransas and had a ball!  It was a 5 hour drive and GREAT place for families, especially those with little kiddos.  It was a neat little village of beautiful homes, some owned and some rental.  There is a gym, 2 pools, restaurants, entertainment some nights and right by the beach.

We had a golf cart that we could take back and fourth to the beach and pools to carry all of our stuff.  I think that was Josh's favorite part of the whole trip :)  They also have umbrellas and chairs they put out for you!  Convenience was well worth the price at this stage in our lives.

Here are some of our beach bums in action.

We were a little early for dinner, but there was a great show going on on the main lawn :)

The boardwalk coming back from the beach.

The girls love any chance they get to have a sleepover together.

The last day we were there we drove over to Corpus Cristi and went to the aquarium.  It was really great!

Lila's favorite animal right now, the sea horse!

Ready for the dolphin show!

Dinner out at Trout Street Grill.

I dressed the kids in their pretty clothes hoping we would get some great shots on the beach for me to hang in the house.  This souvenir shop is as far as we got.  Not quite the framer I had hoped for :)

We had such a great vacation with just the five of us.  Josh and I both laughed when we got home.  I guess we had been preparing for a really stressful time with all of us in a one bedroom condo, 10+ hours in the car and newborn out in the sand and heat that we were really surprised how enjoyable it was!  We will for sure be going back again!
