18 months old!

My baby is 18 months old today!!! When I look at this picture I can't believe that this is this is the same little Lila that I brought home a year and a half ago!!! How did she get this big?

She is talking SO much now. She repeats everything we say, follows directions and can carry on a conversation easily. Her favorite thing to say is either "no" or "okay mommy". (Way more no:)

Most common phrases:

"Mommy. come here", "Hi Daddy", "Cooper go potty", "Watch gabba gabba", "Hot dog Hot dog", "Okay", "Lila happy", "Mommy happy"?, "Daddy happy"?, "Where da _____", "more crackers", "read the book", "go play".

One of her favorite things to do is color pretty pictures.

Unfortunately, this morning that was on my bedroom door! We'll have to work on that:)

She also loves playing outside in the water. Good thing, because it is already too hot for this momma to be out there and not get wet!

She has discovered all things sweet. The ladies at the bank always give her a sucker and this is the face of pure sugar coma joy.

We are really curious about cause and effect lately. Good for the brain, bad for the carpet. I am seeing a little bit of the terrible twos rearing their ugly head too. She has the Dennis the Menace flop down perfect. Where do they learn how to go limp like that? Besides the occasional fit when we are told no, this has been the most fun age yet! Lila is so busy and is learning so much every day. I wish I could freeze time before this toddler is a full-fledged little girl!!!

Wild animal

Last weekend we had nothing planned to do. Crazy for this time of year:) So, we took Lila to the wonderful Waco zoo!

She LOVED it and is still talking about all the animals.

We had a great time and will surely be going back several more times this summer.

No, just some ranch style beans!

Not long ago, I was so proud of how well my little Lila Lew ate. She would eat any fruit, vegetable, grain, even meats put in front of her......

....and then we moved on to solid food and that changed:) Okay, so I guess it was a really long time ago. She would probably like all sorts of things I put on her plate, if I could get her to try them. I don't know if it's really the food she doesn't want to put in her mouth or the freedom of saying "NO" she likes. She has declared herself a vegetarian. No meat for her, just beans?

Yesterday at lunch:
Me: Do you want pears?
Lila: NO
Me: Do you want raisins?
Lila: NO
Me: Do you want goldfish?
Lila: NO (points) want that
Me: Special K???
Lila: Okay Mommy:)

I guess she can keep eating whatever strange foods she wants as long as she'll stay that happy:)

LBJ trip # 1

This past weekend, for Mother's day, we took Lila and headed down to lake LBJ for the first of many trips this season. It was strangely cold and cloudy that weekend, but that didn't stop her from having a GREAT time.

Lila's top 5 things to do at the lake:

1. Boss around not only one, but two dogs. Cooper and my parent's dog Ella were there.

2. Play on the same dangerously not childproofed stairs that I loved as a kid. (ALL DAY:)

3. Eat whatever she wants on no schedule and on the counter top, shirtless with Honey.

4. Ride in the boat...fast!!

5. Drive the boat! Say what? She thought she was SO big and cool with GP.

It was too cold to get into the water, do the slip n' slide, or any other normal lake activities and she had the time of her life. I can't imagine how much fun she'll have next time when she's introduced to all the water toys!

This is my favorite place on the Earth to go. It's where Josh and I had our wedding for goodness sake. It is such a joy to watch Lila enjoy it as much as we do. Can hardly wait until Memorial day!!

***side note: Cooper ran through the screen door the first morning we were there. Wouldn't be a lake trip if Cooper didn't do something. That's why he only gets to come every once in a while:)

"Pile" on the fun!

After seeing how much Lila loved the sand pile at Wyatt's party, we went and got her her very own turtle sandbox! They were outside at HEB. (Is there anything that store doesn't have)?

She only likes to play outside of the turtle. She doesn't really like to get her hands dirty:) We'll have to work on that

Here's to many hours of playing outside this summer!

10 years and 6 babies later!

Last week my good friend Kelly was on vacay from nursing school, so she drove down to Waco to visit Shawnna and I and spend a day with us and our crazies!

Between Connor, Cohen, Caleb, Lila, Presley and baby Williams (on the way) we have 6 babies! Crazy and so fun!

Lila was so happy to spend the day playing outside with some "big" friends:) I didn't take any more pictures, but we had a blast! We shopped, laughed, ate and talked out all the world's problems. So fun to spend a day with old friends!
