Purdy Christmas

This Christmas we were in Waco at my parents house. We had a whirlwind of a time. As always it was crazy but, so much fun! We went to meet Santa, went to Build-a-Bear, had a birthday party for Jesus, went to the children's museum, went to paint pottery, went to lots of movies, played outside in the snow??, ate and ate and ate and still managed to have time for the usual traditions.

On Christmas eve we got our usual healthy Purdy buffet ready (chick-fil-a nuggets, queso, cake balls, cookie cake, and a little fruit). Then we started opening presents:)

Lila was a little overwhelmed by all the chaos, but LOVED playing with all her great new gifts. The drumsticks were a big hit! Seriously, where are we going to put it all??

We paused for a brief minute and went to the FBCWoodway church service. My dad did a great job leading the service and Angie sang beautifully! Lila didn't really understand the idea of sitting quietly, so Honey took her out to play!

When we got home we opened our matching PJ's (thanks mom) and took our group shot. Always interesting trying to use the self timer!! Turned out pretty good though:)

Then Honey and GP opened their annual snapfish grandchildren book. Caryn put together a book of all the events of the past year with the cousins and Honey and GP. Such a treasure! I loved looking back on how much Lila has changed and grown this year!

Then we put the hooligans to bed and opened grown up gifts!

*** side note***After the Wood's had gone home we got a phone call that Ryan had asked Jesus in his heart before bed!!!! What an amazing day!

The next morning we woke up EARLY and went to see what Santa had brought!

Lila must have been a good girl this year!

She was in awe of all the new toys! Thanks Santa!

The whole day was spent enjoying all the new goodies! Hello Batman:)

Another wonderful memory this year is Lila started walking on Christmas with all the family around!

I LOVE my extended family of Purdys and had so much fun, but oh how this duo makes me feel so blessed!!! Merry Christmas 2009

Ally's Candyland Party!

Last weekend my sweet niece Ally turned 3!!!! I can't believe she is already so BIG! Her mommy threw her the cutest Candyland Party I have ever seen. Besides the fact that she looked adorable in her tutu and boots, the party had everything a girl could want! I didn't capture everything b/c I was chasing after a 1 year old who thought the candy was all hers!!

Here is the candy table full of treats! The "game board" in the background went around the whole house!

The hilarious candy Christmas tree:)

The food room was outside in the garage. The kids decorated gingerbread houses (thanks to Aunt Cary) and ate yummy Chick-fil-A nuggets. Again, Lila thought they were just for her.

Instead of a cake, the kiddos got to eat these yummy CandyLand cookies!

One of her favorite gifts was a Dora video that had her in it as a character! Her face was on this hilarious body throughout the movie. The only problem was they pronounced her name "Ally Dina"? What in the world?

Don't guess she minded too much:)

Happy Birthday AllyDina! We love you so much!!!

Swingin' with the cuzins!

The Smith family is in town this whole week for Christmas! We LOVE playing with all of our cousins. While the "old" guys Ryan and Stacey went with GP to ring the bell at the mall, the little kids went to play at the park. These 3 had a ball on the swings!
If the old Merry Go Round hadn't sounded like nails on the chalkboard, they might have like that more too:)

Is there really anything better than playing with your best friends outside on a beautiful day? Hope you and your family are having a great time this Christmas too!

Sweet Sweet Christmas time!

One of my favorite things to do at Christmas time is bake goodies!! (I also enjoy eating them, but we don't want to see a picture of that do we?) This year my mom came over and we had a little baking party! One of the many perks of living close to them:)

My friend Katy had a fun cookie exchange the next night and mom and I were making some treats for that. Every year I like to make chocolate pretzel rods for the neighbor, teacher, etc. gifts, so we just made extras for the party.

They turned out super cute and yummy! The next day Lila and I had a great time walking around the neighborhood delivering them. Who wouldn't be glad to see that sweet thing waiting at your door?

Getting ready for Christmas!!!

Hello Blog! I don't usually go half a month without posting, but as you all know, December is just crazy....And when it's not crazy, I would rather soak it all in with the family. I LOVE this time of year. (as I know I have said several times before) Watching Lila enjoy it all for the first time makes it even sweeter:) Here are a few pics from the past couple of weeks.

Even though our blood doesn't run green and gold, we went and enjoyed the Baylor Christmas tree lighting. It was SOOO cold that night that we left shortly after arriving. Lila did enjoy seeing the live nativity! Is it bad that all the kids were interested in the camels and didn't pay attention to baby Jesus?

We took a quick family shot outside my parents house and called it out Christmas card?

We have literally shopped til we dropped!

We have enjoyed my parents as babysitters way more than they probably would like:) Of all the toys they have, bees in the box is the most fun!!

We went to meet Santa! Sorry the pic is so fuzzy, but couldn't scan it and this was the best picture of a picture I could get. The original isn't that clear either:( This was the only shot before she started crying! I don't really blame her. He is a big, hairy man in a bright red outfit that she doesn't know! She couldn't believe I handed her over to him. Ohh the "How could you" face I got when it was over.

Looking forward to another crazy week with lots of Christmas fun to do:)

Lila's Cupcake Party!

Last Friday we celebrated Lila's first birthday with all of our family! We had guests drive in from Dallas, Lubbock and Andrews just to see this sweetie eat some cake:) We are so blessed to have two great grandmothers, four grandparents, three aunts, three uncles and seven cousins that love this girl as much as we do!!! We had a blast. Disclaimer*** Lots of party pics ahead!

Mommy and the birthday girl!

The Warren side of the family!

The Purdy side of the family!

Month counter.

Mantle and Banner.

Cupcake table.

Kids table and muffin tin lunches. The adults had little slider hamburgers in cupcake wrappers and au gratin potatoes in muffin tins. I can't find a picture of that?

Miss Priss loved opening her presents.

She won't get out of her new chair from Honey and GP!

Lila liked her smash cake alright, but was more interested in all the attention from her cousins.

The paparazzi :)

She is moving so fast with her new walker. So close to doing it on her own.

Thankfully the weather was beautiful that day so the kids played outside in the driveway. Lila had a BLAST celebrating her first year. Until next year!

Happy Birthday Lila!

I can't believe that one year ago my baby was born. One year ago my world was rocked, my life was changed forever! Lila was born at 4:01 pm at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston. I can remember in the moments before she got here wondering what she was going to look like, how she would act, what kind of mother I would be??? Then she made her grand appearance and it all melted away. She was PERFECT!!! She made us a family!

In the days since then (all 365 to be exact) I have learned so much about myself, Josh and her. I don't worry about being the best mom in the world, I just wake up every day and pray to God that I'll be the kind of mom she needs me to be. Lila has taught me to love mornings...even if it's before 7:) She has taught me that it doesn't matter how clean the house is or how cute my outfit is as long as we have time together she is happy. I fall in love with my hubby all over again every time I see him cuddle her. I have learned that no matter what kind of mistakes I make one day, the next is a new one.

Lila is growing into this beautiful, hilarious, stubborn, sweet, outgoing little girl and we couldn't be prouder. She has 8 teeth!! and loves to eat:) She has taken a few steps, but still prefers to crawl. It seems like she learns a new word every day. However, she starts each morning off with "Hi Puppy" no matter where Cooper is. Her favorite thing to do is "swing, swing" and she always wants to be outside.

I feel a little sad today that my baby is growing up so fast, but I am loving every minute of it!!
This was this morning at breakfast. She had a cupcake of course! Please excuse the singing and pjs. It was 6:30 for cryin' out loud:)
