We finally got the nursery finished!!! I really wanted to do a neutral colored room and just add pops of color. Ironically, we ended up painting the room back to it's original color before it was a guest room and a play room. Since Josh and I love to travel we decided to accent with maps and globes. Sort of an "Oh the places you'll go" theme. I love the blues from all the maps and I think he will be able to grow into a big boy without having to change much. I really love the combo of rustic and soft, so we have lots of different textures with the woods and fabrics. We had the white furniture from the girls nursery's and decided it looked good. (and it had too, since that's what we had). The glider had to be recovered though because it was apple green with pink trim.

I love the glider in this neutral oatmeal color. I think it will be able to move into our room or the living room once we are done rocking babies.
I fell in love with this shelf from restoration hardware that was a big, rustic, piece of wood resting on metal pipes. The problem was, it is about $350. I went down to Junk Couture an antique shop on Austin Avenue and asked the owner if they could find me a piece of wood like that and sure enough, for $20 Josh and I made our own version from this bulky, wood plank.
I really like it even better because it's one of a kind!

The maps were another great find. I searched and found all sorts of cool maps online, but they were so pricy and all different colors. I was SO excited to find these at Honey's Home Style for $3.00 each!!! They were the exact blue I wanted and so antique looking. I had them framed at Hobby Lobby, (more than $3.00, but worth it)
The bedding was a similar story. ( I promise I am not a cheap person, but just sounds like that with the redoing of an entire room!) I had seen something I liked in a natural linen that was too much and something I LOVED that was custom made for WAY more than I wanted to spend, so I "custom made" my own linen bedding. I had done both of the girls and really liked the fullness of this style.
It has a torn edge on the ruffle.
I made the mobile from little globes I found online. One was a tin bank, one had to be broken off it's stand and the other three were paper mache.

I had seen this awesome height ruler on pinterest and loved it. My sweet friend Jen's husband made her one. I commented how much I loved it, and what do you know, He made me one too!!! SO nice.
