Lila is 4 1/2

Lila Elizabeth had her half birthday on June 1st.  Since she inherited the any occasion can be a special occasion gene from me, she choose to go to the Mayborn Mueseum with her family for her special treat.  Her sweet Daddy dressing up and having a tea party :)

 She got to eat at Ninfa's for lunch (or the Parrot Place as she calls it) and have dinner at the Harwell's house.  Two of her favorite things to do!  Sounds as fun as a real birthday!

 We had half of a delicious HEB cake for dessert and ate it on half of a plate :)

 The party hats were cut in half and they loved it!

 My sweet Lila is back!  She had a little bit of a rough time with exploring new boundaries and discipline in May.  I thought we were heading into yet another hard stage, but I think it was just a growth spurt/new baby adjustment period.  Thankfully we got over it and she is SO much fun again!

She is the best little helper for James Wright and talks all the time about when she will be a Mommy.  She also informed us this month that she will get married after going to "university" at age 88.  ( We later decided she meant 18.)  Her wedding will be in Waco at sundown and she will marry someone really funny!  Ha!  Move that number up to 25 or 30 and lets make sure he loves the Lord then I think it's a great plan!

 

 She loves and admires EVERYTHING about this man.  Thank goodness the feeling is mutual!  Every night they exchange a scientific fact and a joke they learned that day. Pretty funny! 

 

She is now a full fledged swimmer and can't get enough of the water!

 

 She loves playing with her sister and has a wonderful imagination! 

 Daily our entryway becomes the beach, the ocean. a classroom, a camp out, church, school or a dance studio.  This particular morning they were in row boats trying to rescue their animals.

 

 She loves to sing and dance and is growing up right before our eyes.  She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and I am SO VERY proud of who she is becoming.

James Wright is 2 Months

 James Wright is 2 months old!!! (Technically, He has been 2 months for over a couple of weeks now, but I just can't find the time to post anymore!)  He is still the most precious baby boy ever born and I just melt every time I hold him.  Seriously....melt!  We are calling him James Wright.  We thought we'd decide either/or once he got here.  Then we decided we'd wait and see what his personality is like.  Now we have gotten so used to James Wright that it stuck.  I'm sure it will eventually become one or the other, but right now it's Sweet-Baby-James-Wright.  Usually all four words ;)

 He is so happy most of the time and looks just like this...

 

...unless you catch him between 7 and 8 pm.  He doesn't like going to bed and fights it every night.  I think it's because he just loves being awake ;)  

He was 13lbs 2 oz at his 2 month check and 24 1/4 inches long.  That's 90th % in weight and 95th % in height!  Big boy!

He wears size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes.  So many of our cute summer things are already too small.

He nurses every 3 hours, except at night.  he usually does a good 6 hour stretch and some nights only gets up once.  We are really hoping this third month he starts to sleep through the night!  Fingers crossed!!

He loves bath time.

  He had his first trip to the lake house this month.  Sweet nappers :)

He doesn't like being on his tummy for too long, but has started holding his head up much better. 

He coos and turns inside out when his sister's talk with him.  I think he knows he better start practicing now if he's going to get a word in with them.  Sweet boy!

Road Trip

For Memorial day we braved our first road trip with three kids up to Shallowater.  Surprisingly enough, we did it in five hours both ways with only one stop each time!!  My neck and back took a few days to recover from bending and turning to give endless snacks, adjust the movie, find the lost crayons and replace the pacifier, but we got there in one piece.  

Josh's grandmother, Granny hadn't met James Wright yet, and he was dying to meet her :)  We stopped and stayed the first night in Crosbyton so that we could spend some one on five time with her.  These two were really glad to be out of the car!  Running and dancing like crazy.

 

Little Mr. too!  Granny made a quilt for each of our kiddos and got to give JW his.  He loved the little fisher man on it :)

 

 I swear every time she held him, he just stared at her!

 The next morning we played a little checkers, by all the official rules ;)

We loaded back up and headed on to Shallowater.  I don't think he got put down the entire time.  I missed getting pics with Rox, Aunt Jacque, and the kids holding him, but let me tell you, He was loved on!

 

 The girls LOVE playing with their cousins.  They pretty much stayed outside and took care of themselves the whole day.

 The next morning the girls went to big church with Cha Cha and Grumps and we got a little extra sleep.  We went out to lunch with josh's aunt and cousins.

 We hit the road and made it home by dinner.  Sweet bigs with their little!!

Mother's Day

 This Mother's day was so fun.  We celebrated at my parent's house.  Josh was on call (not fun) so he met us over there for lunch.  It was so wonderful to spend time with my mom, sisters and my grandmother on this special day.  Here is Honey and Nana with her 10 great grand kids!

 We ate a delicious lunch made for us by my dad and all the boys, watched golf and hung out all day.  This is actually the best picture I got of my 3.  I don't know if I have actually gotten a single shot yet of all of us looking the same direction and smiling?  Gotta work on that. 

 Thanks to Pinterest, we had an idea for my mom's gift.  Caryn has these awesome metal numbers hanging in her boys room and took them all down so we could take these pictures of the kids.  We met at the park and tried our best to get all the kids to smile with their birth order number. 

 

 

 

 

We put all the kids shots and these group ones into a giant frame for Honey.  

It's hard to believe that this is her 10th grandchild!  She is a super grandmother.  (I think you get that title once you pass five.)  She has a very unique relationship with each and every one of them.  They all want to spend the night or go play at Honey's anytime you ask them.  She can heal all boo boos and hurt feelings with a hug and an m & m.  She taught me how to be a mom.  How to take care of them as newborns, how to throw a birthday party and make them feel special and how to pray for them.  I love getting to raise my kids with her in town along side my sisters, who are also super moms.  

Mother's day is such a great day to celebrate all the moms in our lives and to remind us just how lucky we are to call ourselves that!
