Telling the Fam

Yesterday was a fabulous day!! Like I had previously posted, we are having another girl!! As a member of the sister's team, I am ecstatic for Lila and #2 to get to share that friendship too! Josh and I went to Dr. Rister's office at 8:15 for our appt. We were both so ready to know what new little peanut was we couldn't hardly stand it! Even though this picture has such great lighting, I love it. You can totally see the excitement on my face and the fear in Josh's.

We immediately text this picture to our family that isn't in Waco. Everyone was voting boy, so they were shocked!

Then I went to pick up some cupcakes to surprise the Wacoans. There was a green ribbon around the box for extra suspense :) I don't know who was more excited to open it, the grown ups or the kiddos.

Surprise!! I esp love the look on Ryan's face. Do you think he was disappointed in the flavor of cupcake or the fact that it was a girl?

Hooray for a GIRL!

We can't wait to meet you sweet little angel!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Hard to believe, but 60 years ago this precious little boy was born, and we are SO glad. Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Last weekend my sisters, my mom and I threw my dad a surprise 6oth birthday party. He was totally caught off guard and we all had a great time. We had it in the back party room at La Fiesta. One of our favorite mexican food places. We decorated the room in red and black in the likes of Texas Tech:)

On the table we had 60 amazing descriptions of our dad.

The handsome high school kid!

The crazy party girl herself!

The balloons provided much entertainment for the kiddos (as did the sour balls that weighted them down)!

So happy to be up past bedtime with her Honey!!

The old Purdy crew...

....and the new :)

We love you so much Daddy and are so glad that we get to call you our own!! Thank you for all you have done this past 60 years so that we can be here and have this amazing life!!

Stacey turns 5!!!!

Last week Lila and I loaded up with the Wood family and went to Dallas to help Stacey celebrate his 5th birthday!!! I can't believe that he is that old. As usual Caryn threw an AMAZING party. It was a shark party. Swim at your own risk!

The yummy food table.

Stacey's Shark Sippers made out of recycled Snapple bottles:)

Precious life saver cupcakes.

The SRS III party room.

Kids table.

The Shark Souvenir shop. The kids all got play money to buy their shark party favors.

Lila was prepared for some serious swimming:)

Sweet Miss Payton and Lila checking each other out.

The hostess herself with her 4 babies! (2 are in the tummy)!

Stacey had a blast and was so excited and complimentary about every little thing his Mommy did. Such a mature little man:)

We love you so much "Stace" (as L calls him). Thank you for inviting us to your awesome Shark party!

Barton Creek

Last weekend Josh and I went away for a long weekend to the Barton Creek Resort in Austin. It was our mini version of a baby moon. One last child free getaway before baby # 2 comes. I literally forgot how to be child less.

-How to eat slowly while only having to feed myself.
-How to close my eyes at the swimming pool and relax.
-How to shop for myself at actual grown up stores without getting dirty looks from the sales people for my sticky fingered toddler
-How to sit and read not one page, but an entire magazine.
-How to sleep past 7...(okay I never really forgot how to do that), but I got to!
Needless to say, we had a fabulous, relaxing time. So much fun I only took this one picture! And it's not even of people? What happened to me?

Ahh, the hill country at it's best!

Lila stayed in Waco with Honey and GP. She had a great time being doted on and having all the attention a girl could want:) Thanks guys!!!

After several weekends with our cousins this summer Lila noticed she was the only one without Crocs. Since July 4th all I was hearing was "where are my cocs"? whenever I tried to put shoes on her. So, we surprised her with a new pair when we picked her up on Sunday.

She is admiring her new kicks. To say she loves them is putting it lightly. I love them because she can put them on herself! So great to come home to this precious baby:)

Playdate with Daddy!

Last week was Josh's vacation week. Besides Christmas, this is typically the only long stretch he gets off. We had so much fun having Daddy home to play with. One day we took Lila to the Mayborn Museum down at Baylor.

I think you can tell by her face that she was really excited!

She got a kick out of driving us around in the big cars. I think she really thought she was driving them.

The look of pure excitement!

She tried on every hat they had and wanted to know where they worked.

SO fun!

By the time we got to the little town room, she was exhausted.

Josh and my favorite was the green screen weather center. Lila was not as impressed. What a great place to play in the July heat!!

4th of July

In annual Purdy/Warren/Smith/Wood tradition, we spent the 4th down at the lake with the whole family. It was SO much fun for us all, but esp. little miss Lila Lew. She absolutely LOVES being one of the "big" kids.

The group in their patriotic gear:) Hard to imagine next year when there will be three more babies!!!!

Every morning started off like this. Thanks Honey for letting the Mamas sleep in while you watched lots of Disney channel.

Pretty little swimmers.

We also celebrated Mom's birthday on the 5th. Angie recreated Granny Liz's Texas Sheet cake. It was fabulous. Almost as good as the original.

Happy Birthday Honey!

I think this girls loves the lake almost as much as I do!

Never too young for makeup!

Today while we were driving home from the store it got WAY too quiet in the back seat. I turned around and saw that Lila had found a black eyeliner and was busy beautifying herself!

Good news is, talent wise, she got pretty close to her eyes? Bad news is she got REALLY close to her eyes:)
