The Purdy's take over Lubbock!

This past weekend the whole Purdy clan drove up to Lubbock for our annual fall visit. The Tech game is always the highlight of the weekend. We will skip right over the horrible show that Tech put on during the actual game :( and go to the tailgate.

Stacey, Chris, Josh and Travis put on quite a party! We took the kids before lunch to play and see the getup.

Lila has been skipping her morning nap lately (not encouraged by me). Do you think this girl is sleepy?

The men prep all the food for the smoker.

Josh got a pig from his cousin Eric, the hunter and made some yummy pork.

We stopped by the pumpkin patch and took some pics of all the cousins. 4/5 is pretty good:)

Lila was not loving it and refused to smile. This wast the only one she at least looked at the camera.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Why do I love fall...?

1. Playing outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather!!!

2. I can leave the house in what feels like my house shoes.

3. All the new fall clothing trends:)

4. Days shopping for all the holiday gifts and decorations. (Yes, even at the Richland Mall:)

5. Football Saturdays!!!
6. Soup for dinner
and
7. Pumpkin spice Lattes

This has always been my favorite time of year, but it is even better sharing it with Lila Lew.

What do you do when they won't let you put them down all day?...

You pull out the baby swing that they are way too big for:) My independent, busy 10 month old is not herself. Notice the swollen eyes. That's because Lila has croup?! Who gets croup? We went into the urgent care clinic on Sunday because she had a fever of 101 and this crazy deep cough. Luckily it wasn't the flu. They gave her a steroid shot and said she will get better in 3-4 days. We are on day 2 and while she doesn't have as high a fever, she is SO fussy. She doesn't want me to hold her but, she doesn't want to be put down either. I put her in the swing and she seemed to like that. It is so funny to see her feet sticking way off the end and watch her hit the mirror that she couldn't even reach as a babe. We are taking steam showers and working on getting better. Here's hoping she is well by this weekend!

Da Da Da...All day long!

Every day Lila wakes up and we eat, play, explore, laugh, sleep and then repeat. (over and over) We have a blast together, but as soon as Daddy gets home from work, that's all we care about. Forget Mommy. The one who put in the hours of care all day long!! It's a good thing it melts my heart to see my sweet daughter in love with her even sweeter daddy:)

This was bath time tonight. Enjoy:)

10 months ago today...

We met Lila Elizabeth Warren!!!

I can't believe how much she has grown and changed!!! For some reason 10 months seems way closer to a year than 9 months. I know, it is literally closer, but ahh! My baby is going to be a toddler in just 2 months!!

She is keeping us super busy crawling all over the place and getting into anything she isn't supposed to. She has learned to grab her spoon during meals, making feeding this girl a whole lot more fun:). She wants to eat real people food now, but hasn't mastered chewing it up and swallowing?

Here she is at dinner last night. Turkey and cheerios still in her mouth and banana in her hair! She looks a lot like Chandler Bing with his flock of seagulls haircut.

This month we have weaned from momma and are drinking whole milk. We tried formula and Lila wouldn't have it. Thankfully our Dr. said we are close enough to a year for cows milk.

This is the picture I usually get of her now. The back of her head. She is just too busy to look and smile:)

***Sorry boring stats for me to have record of: She is 20 lbs and 28 inches tall. Has 3 teeth. One fang on top and two on bottom. Sleeping 11-12 hours at night (hallelujah) Cruising all over the place. She says Dada, Mama, Pooper (Cooper), bye bye and night night. She and Cooper have a love/hate thing going on lately. She adores her extended family and is working on their names too.

Lila, you are so much fun right now. I love how you raise your hand up like the queen and smile whenever you see daddy and me. You make us so happy! Can't wait to see what all this month has in store for you:)
