Beauty sleep!

Yesterday was a day of firsts for our little girl. We went back to church for the first time! We go to Houston's First Baptist Church and we love it! Greg Matte is our preacher and we have been missing hearing him teach while we have been out. Lila is too little for the nursery (not that I want her in there yet...talk about germs!!) so that means she would have to come to big church with us. I timed her feedings where she would be okay, but I was worried she would want to "talk"all throughout the service. She loves riding in the car and falls right to sleep. We just took her in her carrier in and she slept the entire service! Way to go girl!

Later that day we went to Brenham to meet Josh's parents for dinner. They live in Lubbock and were in Austin for a conference. They couldn't stand being that close and not seeing her. So.. we put her in the car where she fell right to sleep again. She did good at the restaurant and then slept all the way home. After all that extra sleep I'm thinking ..(we are going to be up all night)...right?

Wrong! Lila slept through the night for the first time last night! 11:00 -6:30! And the crowd goes wild!

Here is my sweetheart waking up in her bassinet. Her hair had a party, but it seems like this girl just needed a little beauty sleep:) Now we'll see if it ever happens again.

New Hairdo

This morning after Lila's bath I decided to try a new hairdo. She has a baby mohawk that curls at the top. She looks pretty sweet. Rock and Roll baby girl!

Gerber Baby...Eat Your Heart Out!

Josh went back to work this week :( so Lila and I have been home alone. Here are some pics of my sweetie in action.
This is Lila ready to go shopping. I mean, C'mon! How cute is this little polka dot? Watch out world, we have a new fashionista!

Here we are VERY sad that daddy is leaving.

...but a little later life was good again. She is growing so fast. I am trying to slow down and soak up every moment! I am so blessed.

A New President

Here is a picture of Lila and me watching the inauguration of our 44th president Barack Obama. I wanted to post a picture of her watching history as the first African American president was being sworn into office.

I hope that no matter what your political beliefs, you will say a prayer today for our new president, that he will lead our country with the Lord's wisdom.

Lazy Days

This post is for all the family we have out of town that haven't gotten to see Lila lately. (I realize everyone else might not be impressed with watching her just sit there:) She is cooing and trying to communicate with us more every day. As I have already mentioned, she loves her daddy. We feel so blessed that he has been able to be home with us for so long. This is a little video of her on our lazy Saturday afternoon.

Daddy's Girl

This time of year is football playoff time. I could care less about pro football, but my sweet husband loves to watch every single game:) Lila has been loving watching the games with her daddy. She is becoming more aware of the TV and all sorts of other things in the room.

"Miss December" is turning into a daddy's girl more and more every day. She is 6 weeks old now! She smiles at us and copies some of our facial expressions, (especially sticking out your tongue)!

What a sweet, sweet smile!

Waco week

This past week our family was in Waco. Josh is in the final 6 months of his fellowship(YAY)! He was meeting with several hospitals and Docs to see if Waco might be a possible place for him to practice. Lila and I tagged along so that we could see the family. We had such a fun time seeing everyone without an agenda or things we "had" to go do.

Here is Lila with her oldest cousin, Ryan and aunt Angie.

Here is our only girl cousin on this side, Ally and Honey. Ally did much better sharing her mommy and Honey this trip. I can't wait until Lila is old enough to run around and play with her!
GP has the magic touch for burps and falling asleep:)

Ignoring the pajamas and bed head, I love this candid picture my dad snapped. It's too bad this little one isn't adored!

My friend Shawnna just moved back towards Waco to Belton. She came over to meet Lila. She is prego with her 4th boy!! She is a super mom! Thanks for coming to see us!

All week we loved playing mom and dad's new wii fit. Ryan is really good at all of the balance games. He needed some help with a new boxing game. Here is his mom helping him out with his punches! Pretty funny:)

Of course, Ally wanted to play too. Josh is helping her head butt soccer balls! She got the highest score!

Cooper loves going to Waco. He has no trouble feeling right at home. Here he is sleeping under Honey's feet.

All the Ladies!

I know they're late, but I just got these pics from my dad's camera. This is 4 generations on the Anderson/Purdy side of my family.

Here are all the ladies for Christmas 2008. Lila is so lucky to be coming into a family full of women who love her SO much!

Cotton Bowl 2009

What a sad, sad ending to an otherwise incredible season. This year the Raiders were 11 and 2. We went to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas yesterday to watch our Red Raiders play a horrible game. They lost to Ole Miss. It was the last game for several of our senior players (harrell, crabtree, etc). What a bad way to go out:(

Lila was dressed head to toe in Tech gear. She looked pretty precious!

Josh's parents came down to Dallas from Lubbock and stayed at the hotel with us.

While they all went to the game, Lila and I stayed in the room and watched it on T.V.

Lila didn't let the scoreboard get her spirits down. She was all smiles and coos throughout the game!

While we were in Dallas, we got to go visit some of our favorite people! She loves Aunt Cary and her cousins!

She finally got to meet my good friend Katy.

Here she is meeting Josh's friend Travis.

After the game we got to go out to eat with honey and GP too! What a great visit to Dallas!
