Visitors

Over the past two weeks, we have had lots of visitors come to Waco.  I told you how much Lila loves an event and so you can imagine how excited she was to host some of our favorite people.  I did a terrible job getting pictures of everything, but we sure had fun.

First, Josh's parents came in for the weekend.  It was their spring break and they drove down to get some much needed hugs from their Warren girls.

The weather was beautiful, so we took them to the zoo.

Lila high-fiving the orangutan that was right up against the glass!!!!

We also went to get artsy at Practically Picasso.

Caroline looks a little confused after we painted her feet :)

That same week, my sister Caryn came in and stayed with her four boys.

Hugging the marshmallow!

Double hugs for these two cuties.

The 3 Cs.

The "big girls" as Lila says.

The day after they left my wonderful friend Kelly came in town with her mom and baby Olivia for a couple days.

These two are exactly one month apart and are so cute together!

I guess it's on us to do the traveling now, but mad was it nice to see everyone without having to drive!

Attempt to catch up!

Dear blog,

Poor, poor blog.  I have missed you so.  I really do love being able to chat and update you with all the events of my little family.  I hate that I have gotten so behind.   You have been on the long list of things I can't seem to find time to do.

Things like...
clean the house
fix my hair
cook a healthy dinner
wear make up
work out
shower
fold the laundry
and so on...

Since most of the others effect my hygiene :) or the well being of the others who live with me, I have put you on the bottom of the list.  I will try to do better this spring.

                                                Sincerely,
                                                           Kacey

Here are several different posts crammed into one :)

Lila is a girl after my own heart.  She loves a good event.  Family dinners, football games, parties, but especially birthday parties.  She loves getting invitations in the mail and can actually tell you at any given time who's birthday is coming up next.  One Saturday the guilt of always dealing with the newborn and not playing with my daughter awesome mom in me, let her throw a great pretend birthday party.  Like our favorite book as of late, Pinkalicious, we needed to have PINK everything.

We pretended it was everyone's birthday and sang to them individually.  Even Daddy and GP got a turn in pink :)

Caroline still has lots of hair!  HA, yes that's THREE ponytails she's rocking!

Lila is becoming the BEST little big sister around.  She loves reading, singing and making Caroline laugh.  I love watching them together.

MELT. MY. HEART.

Daily, I find Lila with some different form of makeup on!  Ruined my lipstick, but looks pretty cute :)

With Mommy's help...make up is a little bit better.

 Again without help!  Wild Child!

Love these 3 that are keeping me on my toes.

Papa...Paparazzi

Last week I took a Mommy Paparazzi class to learn how to use the "M" or manual setting on my camera.  A wonderful girl named Rachel Russo came into town from San Angelo to teach us "mommies" how to take better pictures.  After learning all about ISO and shutter speed ???, I basically walked away knowing...I need to practice, practice, practice and I need a better lens for my camera.  Here is the paparazzi practicing at the Arboretum.

A precious model came out for us to practice on.

Caroline was there all day with me, so she got her turn to pose too.  I think she hated all the attention :)

I haven't had the time to practice using all the settings, but love that now I understand what they even mean!

Jenn's Baby Shower

A few weeks ago I helped throw a baby shower for a wonderful new friend, Jenn.  She is married to a friend I grew up with and was friends with several of my buddies while she was at Baylor.  Such a small world.  Lila loves playing with her son Russell!  She is having a precious baby girl the first of May.  I'm sure Caroline will love playing with her too.  Here she is posing with the Audrey banner :)

We threw a late afternoon Tea and Cupcake shower.  Here are some of the teacups.

...and of course the cupcakes :)

The hostesses

Nicki made these cute button skewers for the fruit kabobs.

Some of the decor.

All the loot!!! Audrey is going to be one well dressed girl!

3 Months

Caroline is three months old today!!!

She is so happy and chunky and edible...I could just eat her up!!

  • There is no well check this month, but on our home scale she is around 14 lbs and is fitting into 3-6 month clothes.

  • She is smiling all the time and laughing (for Daddy) :( Not for me yet.

  • She still looks so much like Lila it's scary.

  •  She has officially found her hands and has them in her mouth all the time.

  • She can roll fall from her tummy to her back.

  • We moved her to her room at night time and she is doing okay.  Her sleep is very sporadic.  One night she'll do a 5 hour stretch and then the next three she is up every 2-3 hours!  I am ready for her to start to get the hang of it, so I can feel normal again.
Other than the lack of sleep, we are having so much fun with this girl.  Can't wait to see what he learns this next month!

Lila talk

Lila is growing up right before my eyes!!! She says the funniest things and has the sweetest little personality.  I feel like I want to freeze time and keep her this size forever. For my records I want to write down everything...but these will have to do.

"That's my favorite" everything is her favorite...cup, shirt, song, all the colors, etc...

Adding "in the whole wide world" to the end of every sentence :)  "I love you Mommy, in the whole wide world"!

Lots of talk about dreams? "My dreams have come true".  "I did that in my dream".

Very concerned about how our family fits together.  "I am the big sister like Angie is the big sister.  And Caroline is the littlest like you".  "My grandmas are exactly the same.  They are both tall"!

...and my latest favorite,  "Mommy her boobies look like yours".  I hear the little mermaid in the background and am flattered.  I turn and it's Ursula the giant octopus on the screen!!!  Oh awesome ;)

Our little "helper" is involved in everything that goes on in this house.

Skyping our cousins.

A couple of snaps I took while she was getting her 2 year pictures taken.

Beautiful, sweet, funny Lila.  Please don't grow up so fast!!!!!

 For my records
