7 years together!

This year for our anniversary, Josh surprised me with a fun get away to Vegas!  We left our precious babes with my parents and flew away footloose and fancy-free :) On the flight that night...so excited!

After a delay on both flights and a 1 am check in!!! we were so glad to get to sleep in in the morning.  After we ate our weight in the breakfast buffet, we headed down to the spa for the most amazing three hours ever!

The Spa at Mandalay Bay was voted the best spa in Vegas.  It. was. incredible!!!  We got a couples massage, a scrub and a body wrap.  Not a bad way to spend 3 hours.

After we awoke from the spa coma, we headed down to the pool.  The Mandalay Bay pool is a beautiful beach with a wave pool and a lazy river.  So fun!

It is amazing how relaxing a pool can be when you aren't in charge of little people :)

Once we were sun drenched and water logged, we got cleaned up and headed to dinner and a show.  We ate at Rick Moonen's RM Seafood.  Delicious!!!  Then we headed to see the Phantom of the Opera.

The set at the "opera house".

The warren's after the show!

The show was at the Venetian.  It was so fun to see the other beautiful resorts.  We went to ride the gondola boats, but the line was WAY too long.  I love this pic.  It captured it all :)

...and this one was poking fun at Lila's new attempt to be Vanna White.  Any time she wants you to  look at something, she displays it like so :)

Saturday we slept in again and then hit the casino floor running.  We had a blast playing black jack and Josh even taught me to play craps.  It was a blast!  I'm officially addicted.

Here we are at Luxor, where we both won some money.

We stopped for lunch at Hubert Keller's restaurant Fleur.  (He won top chef masters).  I'm a huge fan...and even bigger now!

These tuna tacos were from heaven.  We literally had to order three more.  SO GOOD!

Lobster Mac and Cheese

Sangria

After gambling all day,  we got cleaned up and headed over to the Bellagio.  They had the most amazing gardens all throughout the casino.

In front of the living picture.

We got to see "O" there.  Just like all the other Cirque shows, it was awesome and made me wish I was still 11 and knew no fear!

After the show, you guessed it, we ate a delicious meal at Prime Steakhouse.  It sits right on the "lake" with the Bellagio water show in the background.  Awesome!

I had to include this random pic.  I almost fell off the escalator snapping it :)

We had an amazing time and are so lucky that we have family who will love on our girls while we are away!  Thanks Honey and GP.

More than anything, I am so blessed to be married to my best friend for the past 7 years!  What a fun surprise!!!!! We always have so much fun when we travel together.  So nice to get some time away to actually finish a sentence ;)  What a fabulous trip!

Purdy Family Vacation 2011

This year for our Purdy family vacation we went to San Antonio!  My parents have some points with the Wyndham Properties, so we got to stay in down town San Antonio on the River Walk.   Caryn and I decided that since we were doing so many outside activities, that the babies would be better off staying behind.  This was a "big kids" only trip.  Lila loved having our undivided attention.  Caroline stayed with Cha Cha and her best friend down at the lake house.  We are so blessed to have such amazing family to love on and take care of our girls!

Thursday morning Josh and I tearfully left our baby and headed down the road to San Marcos.  We stopped at my favorite store, the Pottery Barn outlet, and scored big time.  We got a new dining room table!  Yay!  (Luckily, we got to park our truck in the garage all weekend and ride with everyone else).

When we got there, we headed straight to dinner.  Several people recommended that we try Mi Tierra.  It was a GIANT Mexican food restaurant in Market Square.  Unfortunately, the concierge made it seem like a few blocks away from our hotel...so we walked.  Little feet, hungry peps, 100 degree temps and a mile and a half walk aren't' really the best combo, Ha!

Sweet Lila walking with Aunt Angie :)

Once we got there, we had a great time.  The food was only okay, but a great time.

The cousins were having a blast!

Lila tried so hard to keep up all weekend.  Here she is making a HUGE jump :)

On the way back we got smart, and decided to ride the trolly.

So fun!!

We decided to walk over and see the Alamo.  Beautiful!  Don't think I've been there since my high school choir trip!

If we had been thinking!!!! we would have stopped there, seeing as it was 8:30 and so hot!!! But we didn't.  We thought riding the river boat would be a fun idea...

We waited for about 45 minutes in line and then around 9:30 realized what time it was and why the children around us were dropping like flies!  Wyatt and Lila both asked if they could go to bed!  My mom used her magic negotiating skills and got us rain check tickets to use the next morning!

FYI, early morning on the River walk is awesome!! Almost 20 degrees cooler and about 1/4 of the people.

Lila and Daddy on the River boat.

GP getting some lovin in :)

Walking along the River walk.

Stopping to see the baby ducklings.

After that, the girls headed out to La Cantera to shop and the boys took the kids swimming and to see Kung Fu Panda 2.  My friend Kelly was able to join us for lunch with my sweet Goddaughter Olivia :)

We ate sushi at Kona Grill.  So Yummy!

We stayed up north shopping all day.  The kids and dudes came up to meet us for dinner at Chama Gaucha a yummy Brazilian Steak house.  Lila didn't like anything on the salad bar or the meat, so she ate...a bowl of cherries from the bar.  Oh well, after two days of no nap, what ever made her happy and quiet through dinner!

The next day was SEA WORLD!!

Lila had been talking about this for almost a month, so she was SO excited.

It was a little warm:) and Military appreciation day, due to Memorial day, so the crowd was to full capacity.  Other than that, it was really fun.

Lila is still talking about the beluga whales she saw!

After three days without my baby, (and with my pump) I was so glad to be home!!  I think sister was glad to see us too. Another fun trip for the books!  Thanks Mom and Dad!

Caroline is 6 months!

Today Caroline is 6 months old!!!!  What??? Half a year gone already?  I really can't believe it?   I have some friends who just had babies, and seeing them made C look HUGE!!!!  She is such a fun, active, big girl.  We had a 6 month birthday party tonight.  (Lila has started documenting all of our fun stuff on her camera too) :)

We go tomorrow to the Dr. for her official stats, but here are her latest accomplishments:
  • She sleeps a long 8-9 hour stretch at night now.  Woo Hoo!!!  Still gets up around 4 to eat.
  • She nurses in about 5-6 minutes.
  • She eats rice cereal and a veggie at night for dinner.
  • She plays in her exersaucer and on her play mat most of the day.
  • She can roll from her stomach to back, but not from her back to stomach??? Not sure what she's waiting for, but at least I can leave the room still, right?
  • She has two teeth, bottom middle.
  • She talks and blows rasberries all day, soaking most of her outfits.
  • She has not 1, but 2 hair cuts, HA :)
  • She has just discovered the dog.  Lila and Cooper seem to compete for her attention most of the day.
Love this blueberry muffin so much.  Happy 1/2 birthday Caroline Caprice!!!

Planking?

On our vacation one night, we got on the topic of planking.  (If you are unfamiliar, it's a ridiculous internet craze where you take a picture face down in a "plank" position.  Google it.  There are some pretty creative plankers).  Not sure how that came up or why??, but it sparked some pretty hilarious texts from our family!  Probably not as funny to you, but for some reason this weekend they were SO funny :)

 Josh in a sleepy plank.

Stacey and Wyatt doing the Double Plank.

Ally in a kitchen plank.

Finally, Daddy and Lila Truck bed plank.

Ha!
