Pumpkin Carving

One night last week when Josh got home from work we got to carve the pumpkin that had been long awaiting at our house.  Lila trying to pick up the "Daddy pumpkin".

Ready to work!

Lila was very concerned about the yucky seeds that Daddy was touching.

She was insistent that we carve her "Baby Pumpkin" too.  I was surprised that it actually had lots of tiny seeds in it too?  She decided it was okay to scoop out the guts with a spoon like Mommy:)

The best picture I could get of our finished product!

Once we put the candle in it and made it officially a jack-o-lantern, Lila sang happy birthday and then blew out the candles?  I guess we'll have to explain that better next year:)

Tiny Dancer

We love living here in Waco.  One of the perks is getting to have help and help out with our family.  My sister Angie has been down and out with Mono.  The only silver lining is that we got to take Ally to dance class yesterday and Lila got special permission to participate!!!!!

Every Wednesday at playgroup, Lila cries that she can't go to dance with Ally and Aubrey.  So, when I told her she could go this week, she was beyond excited.  It was Halloween costume day, so these two precious girls got all dressed up.  Minnie Mouse and the Ladybug:)

I was really surprised, but Lila actually did pretty good with the "big girls".  She stuck right by sweet Ally's side.

I LOVED watching her dance around!!!

Ally's paying attention....these two, not so much!

The best part was watching her jump with the rest of the girls.  She can't really get off the ground, but she didn't notice.  She. was. in. Heaven!!!

I can't wait until next year when you can start dance every week!!!

Baylor Homecoming Parade

Saturday we went to the BU parade.  One of the great things about living in a college town.  It was so much fun for these little cuties.  GP, Honey, Daddy, Me, Ryan, Ally and Lila loaded up bright cloudy and early and headed down town.

This was Lila's first parade, so thank goodness Honey was there to show them how to shout for candy:)  Ryan even got this awesome foam finger.

Sweet cousin in their skinny jeans!

Pupkin Patch 2010

Lila and I went to the pumpkin patch last week with our playgroup.  She had so much fun running around all the pumpkins and she looked so darn cute!!!

It's amazing how a little bribing with M&Ms will get a smile out of this girl!  Excellent parenting, I know.

She found just the right "baby pumpkins" to take home:)

I love my Thursdays with Lila Lew.  Just a few left until Caroline will be joining us.

Some of our playgroup cuties!  Addyson, Jack, Russell, Pierson, Mase, Jake and Lila.

Happy Halloween week!!!

CAS Squared Shower

A couple of weekends ago we got to go to Dallas to shower my sweet sister Caryn and her two baby boys Coyt and Crew!!! They are arriving on the same day as Caroline (if not before)!  So technically, the back of the invitation should say Coming in December:)

We drove up the night before so we could be there without a hassle for the morning shower (and the boys could go early to the Cotton Bowl).  This was the first hotel stay without the pack n play.  I am happy to say, she did really well on the pull out.  This pic is early Saturday morning with a powdered doughnut smile!

The boys and Lila ready for the game.  Go Red Raiders!

We had the shower at La Madeleine.  It was a great way to have an early morning brunch shower!  I highly recommend it.  The sign in table.

The menu, dessert parfait and favors.

Sisters:)

The beautiful Momma to be!

2 tiny little blue jeans and C onesies.  (Caroline has a matching outfit:)

 The hostesses!

Can't wait to see you soon CAS squared!!!

Yee Haw!

Last week the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo was in town.  Josh and I really like going to the fair and eating our way through all the fried food and then watching the rodeo.  We were so excited to take little miss L this year!  Once I told her our plans to go watch the cowboys at the rodeo, she kept saying "Howdy and Yee Haw"!  So funny.  Don't know where she heard that :)

She LOVES animals and thought the petting zoo was to coolest place ever!  Talking to the chickens.

A little scared of the hungry goats!

Sweet little cowgirl looking at the baby kangaroo!

I have never seen Lila sit as still as she did for the Rodeo sweethearts to paint her face.  She kept saying "No, Mommy"! and shewing me away from the table.  I guess I'll need to get a sash to seem as cool to this little girl.

What's a visit to the fair without watching the pig race?  She still will tell anyone who will listen that "pigs run fast"!

My favorite two people in the world!  I guess a dinner of french fries and cheetoes makes for a happy girl!

Lilaisms

Lila has been changing so much lately, that I feel the need to write down some of her latest Lilaisms before I am too busy and tired to remember them.
  • She LOVES painting.  Purple is her color of choice most of the time.

  • She HATES nap time and bed time.
  • She sings all the time.  Her best is a mash up of Jesus Loves Me with the ABCs.
  • She still NEEDS to do her make up every morning like Mommy.
  • She kisses baby Caroline and tells her to wake up every day:)
  • She likes to be naked if at all possible!  Some days Mommy isn't up for the battle..so we are:)
  • She talks CONSTANTLY.  Literally all day!  If she runs out of things to say she looks around the room and says "is that my lamp"?  "Is that Cooper's ball"?  etc...
  • She wears us out and makes us laugh all at the same time!

Last Minute Lubbock Visit

A few weeks ago... (All of my posts seem to start like this, because I can't seem to catch up)...

...Lila and I decided last minute to jump in the car with my mom and head to Lubbock.  My Nana was having cataract surgery done and mom was going up to help her out.  We thought that since we weren't going to be able to travel much longer, esp around the holidays, we should go visit some family.  Lila was is hog heaven.  Having both great grandmothers and both grandmothers dotting on her was just fine as far as she was concerned.  (Sadly we were on the go so much, we didn't get pictures with Cha Cha, Honey or Nana).

We went out to Crosbyton to see Granny:)

We went to senior citizens and had lunch with several of her friends.  Lila showed off all her tricks for them.  She even entertained them with a little music!

We stayed with Grumps and Cha Cha so that we weren't in Nana's way while she was healing.  Lila LOVED getting to sleep on the big girl's princess bed!!!  (This is how she sleeps all the time.  I guess the blanket makes it extra dark:)

 Having fun in Shallowater!

 Smelling Cha Cha's pretty flowers.

Visiting Grumps' superintendent office.

SO glad we got to spend some time with all our grands before baby Caroline comes!

3D Caroline!

This Saturday we went and got a 3D/4D ultrasound of sweet baby Caroline!  We were dying to see if she looked like big sister Lila with tons of dark hair or if she was going to be totally different bald little blond.  The first thing the technician told us is "wow, she has a lot of hair"!

She wouldn't really cooperate during the ultrasound (another thing just like Lila).  She was all snuggled up against the placenta and didn't want to move.

Here is a picture of her sweet little nose and lips, precious hands and even an open eye!!!

In this one she started to seem annoyed that we were interrupting her nap.  (The black on her head isn't hair or a giant hole, it just wasn't in the range for the photo).

Sweet Caroline, we can't wait to meet you and kiss those squishy cheeks!!!

Do it yourself flower vases

I have always loved doing little crafty projects.  I like seeing unique ideas and then trying to recreate them.  Hello Pottery Barn Catalog remade on my Target budget:) While I was shopping in a new store here in Waco called collective 201, (such a cute place.  Very Anthropoligie).  I saw the cutest idea for flower vases.  I had a baby shower coming up for my sister and thought they would look super cute on the table.

These were so easy to do.  I got my supplies:  Mason jars, paint and gloves.  That's it!

Dipped the rim only in the paint bucket and turned them over to drip and dry.

30 min later you have custom made turquoise vases:)

So easy and so cute, I had to share them with you!

Kiddie Land

We LOVE fall at this house.  The pumpkins, the football and especially the weather!!! One fabulous day a few weeks ago we took Lila to Lion's park to ride the train and play at Kiddie Land.  To say that nothing has changed in 20 years is putting it lightly.  It was the exact same place that I used to love going to  when I was a preschooler!  Lila had Chick-fil-A and Daddy with her, so anything else was extra!!

She picked the horse with the pink reigns (of course)...

...until she saw the ALL pink one! The happy blur of us passing Josh by.

After paying or ticket and then backing out of all the other rides, we decided to ride the train.  daddy squeezed in to her delight:)

Did I mention she loves her Daddy?

Before we left, Lila asked for one more ride.  She decided she was brave enough for the airplanes, if Mommy would ride with her.  The spinning, "super smooth" airplanes probably weren't the best for preggers, but we had a blast!

Every time we mention going to the park or going to play Lila asks, "I go ride the horse and train"?  She gets very disappointed that not every park has those.  Until next time Kiddie Land!
