It's been a LONG process... but we are finally done with Lila's big girl furniture!!
- I made the genius decision that we needed to strip all four layers of paint off and start from the bare wood so that it would be in perfect condition for my little Lila Lew. (Wrong, we could have just sanded down the top and bit and gone from there. Live and learn). Oh, but once you put the stripper on and it removes 50% of the paint, you are left scraping or sanding the rest off so it's even:)
- I also suggested that we start this project in the depth of summer! Nice:) We would go out to the garage for about 10 min and then start to melt. So, we would break until another night.
- Not to mention the whole staining and priming couldn't be done around me. Can you believe that after working 12 hours Josh didn't want to rush home and work every night?:)
- That's why it took almost 2 months!!
Here is the old black vanity.
And....Lila's beautiful big girl bed!
I worked on her new room while she was in Lubbock with Josh's mom. When she got home on Friday she was so excited to see her new big girl bed. Here she is with the whole entourage showing them where they will sleep.
