Week at the lake

Back in July, the girls and I spent 9 days down at the lake house together!  We were going for a fun Warren family weekend followed by a Purdy Family weekend with the 4th right in the middle.  Rather than drive back and fourth to Waco, we decided to stay and enjoy a few quiet days just the three of us.  I have never been away with just the girls and me for that long, but if there is a place to go do that it is LBJ.  Josh came down both weekends, but had to go back for work.  SO many pictures to remember this awesome week!!

It started with some fun with the St.Clair cousins and ChaCha and Grumps!

Caroline getting a fishing lesson from Mia.

The "stink" bait that Justin got was so stinky, we made him go to a whole other dock to get his pole ready!  He was told to wear these gloves when messing with it bc it would leave basically death smell on your hands for weeks!!  (It was really good for catching catfish?)

A little art during down time.

Me too!!

Grumps learned more about Yo Gabba Gabba that weekend than he ever wanted to!

SO much fun with these guys!

The next day the girls and I went down to San Antonio to visit my friend Kelly who had just had baby Fin, our Godson.  The girls actually did really well traveling and letting us visit, but I made the mistake of trying to go to the Pottery Barn Outlet in San Marcos afterwards on the way back.  My family calls it the "one more ride" mentality.  At a theme park, you think, "we can probably handle one more ride before the poop out"?  Forgetting the effort it takes to walk to the car, get out of traffic and get home.  When if you feel like you could do one more ride, you should call it a day.  Well, I should have called it.  I think we were all crying by the time we left the store!!

The next day we swam and played and just enjoyed the lake and doing nothing!  The next morning Mom and Dad came down with Ally!  We started celebrating the 4th!

These three are so precious together!  I can't help but feel like this is what my family will probably end up looking like with 3 girls.  No exciting news on that front!!  Just love them all together :)

For now, my 2 are keeping my hands full!

Since the 4th was right in the middle of the week, the Daddy's weren't there to do all the giant fireworks like usual.  I was a really poor substitute .

Smoke bombs, tanks and sparklers it is :)

Lila was a little scared of the loud popping ;)  We usually have to watch from inside, so being in the back of the car is huge!

The 5th of July was my mom's 60th birthday!  We had a fun little family party.  We made a book of 60 memories from all of us, kids, husbands, everyone.  It was really special collection of everything we love about her.  They were heading on a cruise in a few weeks and just wanted some fun money for that instead of a party, (plus she had a pretty rockin' 50th surprise party).  We saw a box of chocolates as a way to give money in a cute way.  Thank you Pinterest!

Honey and her 9 kiddos!

Little stinkers :)

More party fun!

The boys all had a great time learning how to "ski" on this awesome surf board thing!  So fun to see them enjoy the lake like we all did as kids.

Sister wife # 2  helping mother all the children ;)

Lila really learned to like to swim in the lake independently this week.  Caroline had so much fun on the big blow up slide.  This child has no fear!

One of many naps brought on by the boat!  I think we were all 3 feeling this way at that point!

Lots to pack and lots of work, but I so loved this time alone with my girls and together with all our awesome families!  We are beyond blessed!!!
