This past weekend we threw a fun 60th birthday party for my father-in-law, Phil. It's so strange to me how much he and Josh look alike in these old photos. So handsome!
We had it at Cagel's Steaks in Lubbock. Such a great atmosphere for a laid back get together. Here are some shots of the decorations. This was on the wall. Made of pictures throughout his life.
A close up...
On the big tables, we had burlap runners with large flower arrangements.
On the smaller tables, we had two small mason jar vases. I saw the vases wrapped in twine on Pinterest. So cute, and cheap!
What you see when you walk in. Burlap banner hanging over his letter jacket, boy scout uniform and baby booties. We had everyone sign in here with a little note of love. Let me tell you, that man is loved. Out of everyone we invited, all but about 3 couples came! Family and friends from all over came in to help him celebrate.
Lila was attached to the hip of her closest in age cousin, Presley. So sweet!
Right outside the room there was a big play area. The kids loved it and it kept them from running around all the tables and bumping into all the grown ups.
I was so glad that my Mom and Dad could come. The party started at Caroline's bed time, so she wasn't the quietest little peanut. They entertained her all night so I could visit and take pics. Thanks Honey and GP.
Singing Happy Birthday to the man!!
Close up of the great cake Gwen got. It has all the places they have lived and worked throughout the 60 years!
The Warren and StClair families.
By the end of the night, this is what we all felt like...
I am so glad that I got to help celebrate such a GREAT man! He has touched so many people's lives through his coaching, superintending, and leading. He is a smart, kind, Godly man. Not to mention, he raised one heck of a family. I am so happy that I get to be part of it now! Happy 60th birthday Grumps!!
